Introduction:

The YESS Summer School is organized by the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education, the Young European Researchers in Mathematics Education (YERME), and Utrecht University. The summer school is designed for PhD students in mathematics education affiliated with institutions in Europe.

During the Summer School, each participant will join one of the Thematic Working Groups (TWGs). These groups form the core of the academic programme: the space where participants discuss ideas, develop their work, and exchange feedback on one another’s PhD projects.

• Mathematics teacher expertise, practice, and professional development
• Teaching and learning mathematics at the primary and pre-school level
• Teaching and learning mathematics at secondary level
• Teaching and learning mathematics at the upper secondary and university levels
• Information technologies in mathematics teaching and learning
• Proof, proving, problem solving, and interdisciplinarity in Mathematics Education
• Preservice teachers’ training mathematics
