Theme: “Transcending Borders and Boundaries in Education Research: Toward a Beloved Global Community”
Introduction:
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) is a national research society dedicated to advancing knowledge about education, encouraging scholarly inquiry, and promoting the use of research to improve education and serve the public good. The AERA Annual Meeting brings together education researchers and practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds and career stages.
The theme of the 2027 AERA Annual Meeting, “Transcending Borders and Boundaries in Education Research: Toward a Beloved Global Community,” invites scholars to engage across differences while reflecting on the role of power, equity, and responsibility in education research and society. The theme encourages research as an ethical, equitable, and collaborative practice that transcends national borders, disciplines, institutions, and ways of knowing.
