  • TIMSS 2023 Science and Mathematics Item Review Committee (SMIRC)
    • 15 members, nominated by participating entities
      • 7 experts in mathematics and mathematics education
      • 8 experts in science and science education
    • Review of assessment framework (content and cognitive domains, topic areas, and objectives)
    • Development and review of achievement items
    • Scale anchoring of TIMSS international benchmarks

       

  • TIMSS 2023 Questionnaire Item Review Committee (QIRC)
    • 9 members, all experienced experts
    • Participates in development of the contextual framework and background questionnaires
